The Lantern Berry (Luzuriaga partviflora), known to the Maori as Puwatawata, is a small creeping plant of damp forest, often growing in wet moss. This plant showing the flower and the berry was photographed in North Okarito Forest in South Westland where it was growing in sphagnum moss.
