Sometimes I come across photos in old folders that are not bad but I didn’t do anything with them at the time. They’ve become buried by time and some of them are still treasures. I like this one from 2010. It’s in the upper Mikonui Valley near Ross, South Westland. It’s early morning and this is a sunrise. It’s unusual because it’s looking down the valley toward the west and that’s where we normally see sunsets. However, in this view the sun is rising behind me and the colour is reflected in the clouds ahead.
