Logo Explanation

If you think you’ve read this before then you probably have. I had it on my homepage but I’m trying to reorganise my pages so that the content is relevant and logical. The homepage seemed a bit cluttered so I’m moving this into a post that will be linked from the page

My aim in photography is to capture the colours of the West Coast. An artist chooses a palette of colours that are in harmony with each other so that the painting is pleasing to the eye. In displaying my photographs I’d like my web pages and print presentations to also be pleasing to the eye and to be in harmony with my photos. The colours of the West Coast are the colours of the forests, mountains, lakes, rivers, sea and sky. I have drawn my palette from the beautiful Lake Mahinapua, just south of Hokitika on the West Coast. The colours for my palette are all found in that image and the colours in this image are typical of the landscape of the West Coast. I call it my Mahinapua Palette. Those are the colours I shall be using in the design of my website from the background to the page graphics and the text. You’ll also see those colours in my logo where I have used them in a mock-up of an artist’s brush strokes. In the interests of consistency I’m working towards using this palette in all of my web pages, social media pages and in my promotional material. That fits with my mission to capture the colours of the West Coast.  (More)
