Animals
In New Zealand birds are dominant and the only native land mammals are bats. Around our coasts there are a number of marine mammals including seals, dolphins and whales. I have yet to see a bat and my contact with the marine mammals is somewhat limited. Consequently my photo gallery will for the moment at least consist mostly of the NZ Fur Seal which can often be encountered on our beaches and the Hector’s Dolphins which swim offshore, sometimes venturing into the river mouths in pursuit of fish.
Search by the main part of a name. Don’t use words or numerals under 3 characters long, e.g. Sea Emerald is fine, Te Aroha is not but a search for just Aroha will find it. Galatea II won’t work but just Galatea will find it.
